The
Buffalo Bills
We’re welcoming back an old acquaintance by signing cornerback Dane Jackson for a one-year deal, as reported.
A report by Mike Garofalo
Jackson’s professional football journey with the NFL started when the Buffalo Bills chose him from Pitt in the seventh round of the 2020 draft.

The 5’11”, 188-pound Jackson, who is currently 28 years old, played for Buffalo over a span of four seasons prior to becoming a free agent in 2024, after which he signed with another team.

During an unsatisfactory season with the Panthers, Jackson experienced setbacks due to injuries during training camp, which kept him out of action until October. Afterward, he was able to start just three games out of the nine he appeared in. Throughout this period, Jackson recorded 23 tackles (with 15 being solo tackles), one tackle for loss, and defended two passes.
During his finest campaign with the Bills, which took place in the 2022 NFL season when he was playing as their primary right cornerback in 14 regular-season matches, Jackson excelled. That year, he recorded 57 total tackles (with 49 being solo stops), one tackle for loss, two interceptions, defended 12 passes, and caused one fumble. Over his four-year tenure with Buffalo, Jackson amassed an impressive tally of 152 overall tackles (including 129 solo efforts), two tackles for loss, three interceptions, deflected 28 passes, triggered two fumbles, and recovered another fumble.

After general manager Brandon Beane traded former first-round cornerback Kaiir Elam elsewhere, Jackson’s comeback to One Bills Drive followed.

. In the long term, this is perhaps best viewed as a move to replace Elam.
For now, it seems likely that Jackson could be slated as CB2 with Buffalo. So far during the off-season, he is the sole addition the team has made at cornerback position. However, Beane also extended safety Damar Hamlin and acquired safety Darrick Forrest, both of whom signed one-year contracts.
